Kitsilano is a beautiful part of Vancouver and a great place to really get into the feeling and meaning of all that is Easter and springtime. Use the Easter weekend as a wonderful way to celebrate and see the neighbourhood. If you're looking for some ways to celebrate Easter in Kits, you’re in luck. There are a number of great local events happening that your children will love. Here are just a few Kitsilano Easter events that you’ll never forget.

Take The Family to The Kitsilano Community Centre Easter Eggstravaganza

If you have children between the ages of 1 and 8, pack them up and bring them down to the Kits Community Centre! The Easter Eggstravaganza takes place on April 19 from 11 AM to 1 PM, and there will be plenty of activities that your children will love, including crafts and face painting. There will also be age appropriate games to play, and the rumour is that the Easter bunny might even be making an appearance! Each ticket costs six dollars. Buy your tickets now, because the event usually sells out. Tickets are only necessary for children; supervising adults and kids under 12 months will be allowed to enter free of charge!

Go to the VanDusen Botanical Garden Egg Hunt

Just a short drive out of Kits proper, the VanDusen Botanical Garden will be hosting its sixth annual Great A-Mazing Egg Hunt – rain or shine. This egg hunt for children ages 2 to 10 will feature a variety of games and activities, including live music and a magic show. The show sells out every year, so get your tickets fast! The garden is a great setting to enjoy the weekend in and children always leave happy. This year the big event takes place on Saturday April 19, and tickets go on sale the last week of March. This event is a Vancouver classic!

Ride the Easter Train at Stanley Park

Although this event is somewhat outside of Kitsilano, it is so unique and special that any list of Easter events in Vancouver is incomplete without it. If you're looking for a great way to get out, enjoy one of Vancouver's city treasures, and celebrate Easter at the same time, riding the Easter train in Stanley Park is the activity for you. This train includes visits by the Easter bunny and his sidekick, as well as plenty of egg hunts for the kiddies along the way. The train winds through all the most beautiful vistas in Stanley Park, and with its covering is a blast whether it is sunny or raining. Before jumping on the train there are also some craft tables where the kids can make a craft. Tickets are under $10, making this event affordable for the whole family.

Get out there and enjoy Easter this year! Take your kids or nieces and nephews out and about to experience all the fun that is spring, new beginnings and hope. Make some memories by participating in activities in the community - you might even be able to make a few new friends! Easter is a time to enjoy all that Kitsilano has to offer, so make the most of the long weekend with these great events.
