Vancouver Santa Claus Parade, 2014

The annual Vancouver Santa Claus Parade is on this Sunday December 7th, starting at 1pm. Get there early to claim your spot along the parade route and catch a glimpse of Santa himself! With a long parade route, there will be many great viewing spots. Remember to dress warm and bring rain gear, just in case!

The parade starts at Georgia and Broughton, travels east on Georgia to Howe, turns south on Howe, and then finishes at Howe and Davie. There are many road closures on parade day (check out the 2014 RSCP – Road Closure Advisory for the full list), so public transit is your best option getting into and out of downtown. Each year the parade attracts 300,000 spectators to the downtown core.

The parade has more than 3,500 participants, featuring more than 60 marching bands, choirs, festive floats and community groups. There will also be festivities in front of the Vancouver Art Gallery beginning at 10:30am (hosted by Coast Capital Savings) that include; Food Bank drop-off, gingerbread decorating station, face painting, Letters to Santa station and an entertainment stage.

The weather forecast looks clear for Sunday, see you there!
